Dustin wowed us with his best practice in establishing #ModelGovernance, a crucial factor for ensuring data quality and minimizing risk with model lifecycle management. He shed light on how this is successfully implemented in the banking industry – a rare and valuable opportunity for our members to learn about!
Ray Liew, from data platform provider side, got us all fired up with the possibilities of collaboration and streamlined data operations using an unified #DataLakehouse architecture – which is essential for every digital-savvy company nowadays.

Last month, at the HK Data Salon, we had a theme on Generative AI, exploring topics such as Synthetic Data, Advanced NLP, and ChatGPT. The event was a success, and we received great feedback from our attendees.
This month, we switched gears and focused on Data Operation & Strategy, with guest speakers Dr. Ming Cheung from Beta Lab and David YU from Deloitte Digital sharing their insights and experiences. Dr. Cheung gave a comprehensive sharing on Federated Learning, covering both Horizontal (HFL) and Vertical Federated Learning (VFL) and use cases like cross-border collaboration. Meanwhile, David shared his expertise on MLOps, highlighting the different maturity levels of data teams and how to make machine learning operations more streamlined.
